What causes white hair? Suggest remedies

White hair is usually caused by genetics, stemming from your mother's DNA. White hair normally occurs when your hair loses color as a result of the roots not being able to produce melanin. A stem cell called Melanocyte regulates the amount of melanin pigment in your hair follicle. Each melanocyte is supposed to function for a specific period of time, after which it dies. After the stem cell melanocyte stops functioning, the hair grows unpigmented or white. There are other factors which may turn your hair white such as stress, illness, improper diet and mental worries. These are few of the reasons to the frequent concern of what causes white hair?

Grey hair is a sign of aging, but you should not always associate the two. Gray hair can also be brought about by stress. A person under a lot of anxiety and stress over a long period of time might notice white hair appearing gradually. Worry, sorrow, shock, tension, malnutrition and anxiety may decelerate the production of melanin, which leads to grey hair. If your parents had white hair early, you would probably also get white hair at a similar age. A lack of Vitamin B12 could also lead to premature graying or white hair. You can take vitamin supplements to ensure that a vitamin deficiency does not cause graying. Both hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism can cause premature graying or white hair. Consult a doctor and take medication regularly if you suffer from either of these. Vitiligo, an autoimmune disease that affects the skin and destroys melanocytes, creates patches or white hair on your body. Smokers are four times more likely to get graying early as compared to non-smokers.

Increase your intake of black pepper as it has ability to increase the absorption of other nutrients. It increases the amount of melanin in your skin which would also help your hair maintain its natural color. Amla, or Indian Gooseberry, is also a good remedy for grey hair and falling hair. You could apply a paste of this onto the scalp, which helps reverse the process of graying hair. Massage your hair with coconut oil and lemon for 15 minutes every day, this helps in maintaining your natural hair color and delays graying. Nourishment is very important to keep hair texture, shine and luster in good condition. There are several precautions you could take to prevent the growth of white hair. Primarily, avoid getting stressed. This would also contribute to the improvement of your overall health. This means not getting tensed too often, lighter workload, exercising regularly and eating healthy food. This will keep premature white hair from popping up
