Tinnitus is more commonly known simply as ringing of the ears. It is not an imaginary concept, as the old joke goes, but an actual ailment that comes with its own set of causes and cures. Tinnitus may be caused due to inner ear damage. The inner ear is the part of the ear which actually processes sound into what we understand as hearing. Any kind of infection or damage to the inner ear can cause a ringing sound to be heard. A probable cause for this could be exposure to extremely loud noises for a prolonged period of time. If such a thing should happen repetitively, try to keep your ears covered with ear protectors of at least plain old cotton balls. Pouring a few drops of freshly squeezed onion juice in the ear and letting it stand there for about 10 minutes is an effective way of working around the problem. You could also add crushed sesame seeds to the juice. This would help the problem considerably. Spilling an excess of saline solution in the ear would also help clear out any deposits. A few drops of hydrogen peroxide would help raise dirt to the surface and clean out your ear. If the problem persists, use warm coconut oil, one of the oldest known remedies for anything that is wrong with the ears.
