Flatulence is a very common problem, which can be seen in several men, women and children. Although it is not a serious one, this problem can be quite an embarrassing one. Hence, anyone who suffers from the excessive flatulence symptoms, such as gurgling and grumbling, may want to seek a cure to the problem, in order to avoid being in an embarrassing situation, especially, in front of others. At times, excessive gas could also lead to pain and cramps in the abdomen. There is no specific treatment that can be used to prevent farts; however, many health experts would recommend certain home remedies for flatulence gas. Moreover, in order to prevent excessive flatulence from recurring, it is important for people to identify what the possible cause of this problem could be.

Causes

Certain gasses, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen are produced in the stomach and then eliminated from the body, in the form of flatulence. A diet plays a very important part in most health conditions. The causes of excessive farting or flatulence commonly known as farting are mainly dietary. Certain types of foods are known to produce an excess of gas in the digestive tract. These foods include cabbage, beans, raw apples, peas as also celery. Milk and milk products are also known to be the causes of excessive flatulence. Other foods such as potatoes, wheat, artificial sweeteners, apricots bananas and pasta are also known to trigger flatulence in many. One should also limit the intake of onions, carrots and corns if flatulence is a problem.

However, there could also be other factors that lead to excessive gas in the stomach, which eventually results in flatulence. Given below are some of the other common causes of excessive flatulence in people:
  • Swallowing very often, which is a common sign of nervousness

Unfortunately, not all causes of excessive flatulence can be treated lightly. At times, excess flatulence can be an indication of deeper underlying conditions, such as:

  • GERD
  • Celiac disease

  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Lactose intolerance
Therefore, as soon as any of the excessive flatulence symptoms, like stomach gurgling, cramps, growling, pain and grumbling become evident, it may be best to visit a doctor immediately.

In most cases, the best way to prevent flatulence is by avoiding those factors that lead to the problem. However, there are several other home remedies for flatulence too, which can be quite effective. Given below are some of the most effective home remedies for flatulence:
