Question on tea tree oil in ear

If you dropped tea tree oil in your ear, chances are much of it is still in your ear canal, not in your inner ear.  Some of it may have been absorbed through the tissues in your ear canal and around the tympanic membrane.  Even if you are experiencing some burning or discomfort, this typically is not a life threatening situation.  However, depending upon your symptoms and degree of discomfort, it may be advisable to have a trained health care evaluate your symptoms and perhaps, flush your ear or dilute the oil with other more benign compounds.

Tea tree oil is a very strong and potent oil, to which many people are sensitive.  This is not something you want to drop onto the sensitive tissues of your ear canal (or other sensitive body parts.)
