Treatment for liver dysfunction, dry mouth, dry throat, allergies and bad breath

Your liver, which is the largest organ of your body, is responsible for more than 200 different functions. Since it is the most resilient organ too, it can withstand some of the harshest assaults by bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, air pollutants as well as other environmental contaminants. However, failure of the liver can occur due to various factors such as illnesses, infections, alcoholism, a poor diet, chemotherapy and excess exposure to heavy metals.

Since liver dysfunction is a very serious problem, you had best get it addressed by a medical expert. The treatment path will depend entirely on the cause of failure and will probably include medication, vitamin supplementation and dietary changes. In addition to prescription medication, you may also want to try out alternative treatment options recommended for the liver. Speak to your doctor about taking the herbs, supplements and natural remedies given below:

  • Amino Acid Supplements
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • B complex supplements
  • Castor oil (topical application only)
  • Complete Daily Vitamin Mineral Supplements
  • Cranberry juice (homemade, unsweetened)
  • Digestive enzymes
  • Lemon juice
  • Liver Support Supplements
  • Magnesium supplements
  • ilk thistle
  • Probiotics
  • Systemic Enzymes Supplements
  • Vitamin C supplements

There is no scientific evidence to prove that these remedies help in the treatment of dysfunctional liver. However, they do help control the symptoms, since they:

  • Boost energy
  • Decrease the swelling
  • Detoxify your liver
  • Improve the absorption of nutrients
  • Increase immunity
  • Keep the blood flow steady
  • Reduce muscle fatigue
  • Reduce pain

When it comes to treatment of the liver, your diet plays a very important role. Eating fruit alone will not cure your liver. Given below is a list of foods that are strongly recommended:

  • Garlic, ginger and cayenne pepper, as they contain antimicrobial properties
  • Cilantro, because it helps your body get rid of heavy metals
  • Blue berries, green tea & turmeric (curry powder) as they boost the immune system
  • Yogurt, since it contains probiotics and increases the good bacteria in your body
  • Flaxseed and whole wheat, which are high in fiber and eliminate toxins effectively

Make sure that you eat a high amount of fresh veggies, especially the dark green variety. It is important that you consume at least 6 to 8 glasses of purified water each day. There are several foods that you should avoid or perhaps eliminate from your diet. These include:

  • Alcohol
  • Artificial sweeteners and foods that are high in refined sugar
  • Caffeine
  • Carbonated drinks
  • Fish and most varieties of seafood (except tuna)
  • Hydrogenated vegetable oil
  • Lunch meats & cold cuts
  • Mono sodium glutamate
  • Pickled foods
  • Raw shellfish
  • Refined carbs (white flour, white rice and bakery goods)
  • Wild mushrooms
These steps should help control your liver problems to a great extent. For the other problems like dry mouth and dry throat, make sure that you drink half a glass of water every thirty minutes.

To combat bad breath, proper dental hygiene is a must! You need to brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and then use a good-quality mouthwash. Avoid foods with strong odors like fish, onions and garlic, as they often lead to bad breath.

The remedies mentioned above are quite safe if used correctly. However, they should never be used without the consent of a doctor.
