- Everyday after getting up in the morning, boil some water in a pan. Add eucalyptus oil to it and inhale the emanating steam for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat this procedure before going to bed at night. This will release mucus from the mouth as well as from the nose.
- At night before retiring, warm a cup of milk. Add 1 tsp of honey and 1/4th tsp of turmeric powder to it. Stir it properly and drink it. Honey will soothe you and the antiseptic properties of turmeric will help the expulsion of mucus from stool and mouth.
- Exercise regularly to maintain your ideal weight, strengthen your immune system and to keep fit. Eat lighter meals to prevent acid reflux. Drink lots of water, coconut water, fruit juices to help your condition.
- Drink ginger tea or take 1 tsp of ginger mixed with 1 tsp honey every night before sleeping. You can chew a peeled piece of ginger root 2 to 3 times during the day. This will cure your cough problem, maintain acid levels in the body and increase overall immunity.
- Gargle with warm 3 to 4 times a day.
- Add 1 tsp of lemon juice and 1 tsp of honey to a glass of hot water and drink it slowly in twice a day.
