Treatment for Herpes Simplex
The herpes infection usually disappears without any treatment. However your doctor may prescribe medication to relieve the pain and irritation. There are also antiviral medications in the form or pills or capsules which help to reduce the duration of the sores and thus alleviate discomfort. Your doctor may even recommend certain medications to prevent recurrent attacks especially if the outbreaks are recurring too frequently or if you experience related illnesses during an outbreak.
