Sun allergy is also called sun burns, these sunburn is caused due to ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun. there are two types of ultraviolet rays, the UVA and the UVB, both these ultraviolet rays can be harmful if taken in excess on skin. UV rays can penetrate the atmosphere to reach earth even on cloudy days. Excessive exposure to the ultraviolet rays can cause skin cancers.

Excess ultraviolet rays can cause redness of skin with a change in texture and also might be painful. Sunburn can occur when the intensity of sunlight is more than the melanin in skin can protect. Sunburn can be damaging since it is not apparent immediately. Initially it might be just redness, later it can be pain and then the effects of sunburn are known.

There are several symptoms of sunburn, people suffering from sunburn can feel itching and painful and reddened skin. People who are facing severe sunburns may also feel blisters and swelling in sun burnt places. Some people might contact fever and chills, some might experience weakness. There are rare cases of some people going in shock because of sun burns.

As natural course of healing of sun burns, people with fair skin might find their skin peeling in those areas where the sun burn occurred. This peeling might result into itching and the area where the skin has peeled might end up being highly sensitive.
