Can't breathe well, can't eat, can't sleep well...I thought GERD was going to kill me till i found Mavello Alkaline Antioxidant water! My hyperacidity was curbed within one week. Now perfectly ok. It works for my friend too. Try it!
Years ago, I suffered from GERD. It had gotten so bad that I went to the hospital for it. They prescibed a medicine which helped for a while, then stopped helping. I read about papaya enzyme tablets in an alternative healing book. I would chew 3 of them after every meal. After a few weeks, my problem disappeared.
Stop eating any un-fermented soy (tofu, tvp) product and it will help immediately. Tempeh seems to be OK in moderation. Also, no: peppermint, ginger, tumeric, cloves--all of them relax that valve and allow the acid to shoot up--even though they say some of those soothe the stomach--they don't work for GERD.
My brother says someone told him while overseas during Desert Storm to drink hot pepper juice out of the jar after meals to offset his heartburn. He has done it ever since and insist it works. He asked his family doctor about it when he returned to the states and he said the reason it works is because it adjusts the acid level of the stomache in some way.
I find that my GERD vanishes when I gargle mi-mi sico for about 1-2 minutes after I eat. Just DON'T swallow!!
Adapt the Paleolithic diet for a 2 weeks. You will se results. (Lean meats/vegetables/fruits/no dairy/no grains at all, in that order). Read about it for more details and understanding. PS: What's with putting dairy in everything when 2/3 of the world can't properly process/digest it it??
I purchased the Mattress Genie to raise my mattress about 8 inches while I sleep. It does help and I recommend it. I bought it at www.contourliving.com and it is way cheaper than an adjustable bed. It comes with a remote control and is adjustable, so it's much easier than just a pillow.
I find that 2 tbsp. of raw apple cider vinegar works fabulous taken within five minutes of eating
