Plague - Symptoms
Symptoms of Plague
Plague is a disease that depicts a number of signs and symptoms, depending on the type of plague - Bubonic, Septicemic or Pneumonic. The signs and symptoms of the plague include:
- Fever and chills through the body
- Headache, especially in the case of septicemic plague
- Pain in the abdominal region, which may be due to septicemic plague
- Swollen and tender lymph nodes, which are called buboes, characterize bubonic plague
- Sputum, dotted with blood, may be expelled in certain cases of pneumonic plague
- One may experience nausea or vomiting
- Constipated stools or loose stools with a black, tarry appearance
- Coughing and difficulty in breathing, especially observed in pneumonic plague
- Generalized confusion or even seizures, in the latter stages of the infection
