When you have mucous in your chest, it often does come right up to your throat when you cough or sneeze. However you need to get rid of it completely before you can feel completely fit. Inhaling vapors is one of the easiest remedies to get rid of the mucous in your chest. Simply breathing in the steam from a pot of hot water is fine but if you add some eucalyptus oil to this you will experience a feeling of relief. You can also make a simple decongestant oil at home. Heat two tablespoons of oil. Coconut is the best choice but if you don't have that, any other oil is fine too. Crumble four to five tablets of camphor into this and let it dissolve. Take care to ensure that the oil does not burst into flames. When the camphor has completely dissolved in the oil turn off the heat. You can apply this to your chest and back at bedtime. An extract of Cayenne can also be applied to the chest and the back for relief while sleeping. Drink warm water with a tablespoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon squeezed into it. You can drink this as often as you like.
