A runny nose means you have an infection. The infection has probably resulted in cold and a clogged nose. The runny nose actually is a good sign that the infection is on the wane. In a couple of days it is more than likely that your infection will completely disappear. However the runny nose is probably making life difficult for you. You can try some easy remedies to help stop this. Inhalation is one of the most effective of these remedies. Heat a pot of water and inhale the steam rising from it. Adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil will give you relief and help prevent your nose from running.
Lying down on your back is usually an effective way to stop that annoying sniffle. Lie down flat, ensuring that your head is raised higher than the rest of the body. Make yourself a cup of herbal tea. Boil a cup of water. Add pieces of fresh ginger to this. You can also add a few leaves of the Holy basil plant. Let this boil till the water is reduced to half. Now strain this and add one tablespoon of honey. Drink this at least thrice a day. Avoid eating cold things like ice cream, or drinking cold juice, milk or eating things like banana or yogurt. Instead, drink plenty of fluids.
