Alternative Remedy for Sore Throat with Phlegm
Dry or a throat with phlegm is indicative of sore throat. It is always seen to accompany a cold infection. Pain while swallowing, burning sensation and tightness in the chest are typical symptoms. Allergies from the environment and breathing through the mouth are the other reasons for sore throat. Gargling is an excellent method of providing relief to the throat.
A tea made of betony is useful as a gargle in decreasing inflammation. Sipping a cup of water boiled with quarter cup of cayenne pepper is useful. A teaspoon of cider vinegar is added to a glass of water. Gargling with this solution, once in an hour is helpful. Half a teaspoon of chlorophyll to half a cup of water is a useful remedy. A decoction made of goldenseal is useful as an antibiotic.
A teaspoon of lemon juice and honey is placed on the throat for a while. Allow it to trickle down the throat for immediate relief. The rind of pomegranate contains astringent properties, thereby providing relief. Sucking on licorice candy proves beneficial. Equal proportions of honey and cider vinegar are mixed. A teaspoon is consumed every four hours for relief from throat congestion.
