Home remedies for teeth chattering
Gnashing your teeth at night can be the source to a host of problems. Teeth tend to get loosened, worn out and jaw joint problems may arise. You may also notice that your gums are beginning to reduce and headaches and jaw muscle aches get more prominent during the day. These are additional symptoms affiliated to bruxism and need immediate attention. Research indicates that grinding of teeth at night or bruxism, as the condition is known as, is due to the lack of pantothenic acid (one of the B-vitamins) and calcium in the body.
The pantothenic acid is also known as a non-stress vitamin and is responsible for reducing the growth of certain type of hormones in the adrenal glands. When this pantothenic acid is reduced in the body, the individual usually displays a lack of motor skills, and bruxism is a signal that all is not well in the motor control department. A deficiency in calcium also causes spasms in muscles and the chattering of teeth at night. Another widely identified cause of teeth chattering at night is due to the presence of worms or parasites in the stomach. Take a stool test to determine the exact cause. For calcium deficiency, dairy products must be consumed to supplement the calcium deficiency. Most importantly eliminate frequent intake of caffeine related products, chocolates and candies and also refined flour.
