Relaxing the muscles of your jaws is another effective way to reduce teeth grinding incidents. Soak a washcloth in warm wear and squeeze out the excess water. Now lay the washcloth across your face, so that your entire face is covered. This will help you prevent clenching your jaws and in turn will stop you grinding your teeth. Other ways of relaxing before going to bed include drinking a cup of warm milk. If this does not relax you, you can try drinking a cup of soothing herbal tea. When you get into bed, ensure that you sleep on your back since this position helps to prevent the teeth from clenching and then grinding. Sleeping on your side or eve on your stomach will increase the chances of your clenching your teeth and eventually grinding them in your sleep.
