You can try the following tips to help improve your weak eyesight:
- Eat fruits and green leafy vegetables that are rich in Vitamin A. Vegetables such as carrots, beetroots, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, mustard and collard greens, cantaloupe, pumpkin, yellow squash are excellent sources of Vitamin A. You can also try Indian gooseberries with honey.
- You can also grind about half a cup each of almonds with some raw sugar and aniseeds. Split the mixture into 40 doses and take one each day with a cup of warm milk.
- You can do repeated applications of cool fennel tea on your eyes.
- Splash cold water and rinse your eyes regularly.
- Blink your eyes at regular intervals.
- Perform eye exercises that involve upward and downward movement, left and right movement, and clockwise and anti clockwise movement of eye balls. Repeat these exercises at least ten times in a day.
- You can also try the palming technique where you need to close and cover your eyes by using the palms of your hands. This technique helps alleviate stress of the eyes.
- Cut thin cucumber slices and place them on your eyes. Cucumber has a cooling effect on your eyes.
- Avoid watching television for long durations or reading under dim light.
Lastly, consult your ophthalmologist to see if laser surgery is a viable option.
