A cyst like the one you describe is usually a fairly harmless one. It usually develops near the tissues, even though it may not be a part of the tissue. Cysts are usually formed due to either an obstruction in the liquid flow of the body, infection, tumor, organ inflammation or certain unusual genetic conditions. Cysts which are formed just under the skin are usually small, hard lumps and are filled with some sort of semi-hard or soft liquid. They are commonly known as sebaceous cysts. The one you describe as having sounds like a sebaceous cyst. These are generally harmless in nature and it is usually advisable to leave them alone. Only if it turns large, hurts, itches or swells up and secretes fluid should you focus on removing it.
Unfortunately, there is no treatment or natural remedy for removing cysts completely. There are certain ways to make you feel better. An irritated, inflamed cyst can be calmed by placing a warm washcloth on it as often as you like. This will help provide relief. You can also apply a paste of sandalwood powder, turmeric powder and rose water to the cyst. This will help heal it as well as cool down the skin there.
