It is important that you go to a dermatologist as the most important aspect to any kind of treatment is an early diagnosis. Although Rosacea is not contagious it is typically long lasting. Although the exact cause of this disorder of the facial skin is as yet unknown, many researchers believe it is caused by either a vascular or nervous system disorder. It is believed that Rosacea is a hereditary disease, so if anyone in your family has suffered from this problem it is highly likely that you might have the condition yourself.
There are various ways to prevent outbreaks. Try to avoid all spicy foods as this often induces an outbreak. Sunlight is probably your worst enemy and you will need to invest in an excellent sun screen lotion. Your sunscreen lotion must contain titanium dioxide as well as both UVA and UVB filters. Woollen clothes seem to bring on an outbreak and so it would be best if you avoided all woollen garments altogether.
Chamomile is widely used to treat Rosacea. Chamomile has a cooling and soothing effect on the skin and so using it will help to prevent as well as treat an outbreak. It also helps top reduce inflammation and pain. You can either use pure chamomile or chamomile tea leaves to treat the affected areas. Add boiling water to the tea and then strain and refrigerate it. Soak thin strips of cotton in this liquid and apply it on your face to get immediate relief from inflammation.
You can also use Fenugreek Tea as it helps to heal damaged skin. Pour boiling water over a few teaspoons of fenugreek seeds and allow it to steep for around fifteen minutes or so. Filter it out and use it along with a little bit of black tea.
