Yellow eyes are most primarily an indication of a liver diseases, or high levels of pollution in your surrounding. To make your eyes white again, you can drink about two ounces of apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water and honey every morning. Dipping a cotton swab in cold milk and keeping it on your eyes for 10 minutes is also beneficial. However, it would be best if you got yourself examined by a doctor to rule out an ailment of the liver, as it has various vital functions like filtering everything we consume, producing bile to aid digestion, and expelling toxic wastes from the system. Another major function of the liver is producing good cholesterol that strengthens each and every cell and vitalizes our body. The proteins made by the liver make new tissues and repair the old ones. So, any problem of the liver would affect all these functions. There are various reasons why our liver malfunctions - consuming excessive alcohol, oily food, or chemicals through medication, internal infections, and viral hepatitis like B and C. You need to protect your liver from all these troublemakers.
You need to pay special attention to your diet in order to keep your liver healthy. Reduce the intake of fat by about 30 grams per day. Consuming beverages like tea and coffee excessively can also harm your liver. Eating foods rich in protein like pulses, eggs, and fish is also beneficial for the liver. You must consume spinach, carrots, cucumber, and papaya as they are all important for a healthy liver. Sprouts, tomato, mushroom, cabbage, and bitter gourd expel toxins from the system and keep the liver healthy too. You must also consume two glasses or orange juice on an empty stomach every morning for about a week to improve the condition of your liver.
Another effective remedy for liver care is consuming the juice of white radish leaves and stems with sugar candy added to it every morning on an empty stomach. Papaya and lemon are also very beneficial in the treatment of liver diseases. You can add lemon juice and a pinch of salt to a glass of water and consume it thrice a day for 21 days or add half a tablespoon lemon juice to two teaspoons papaya and consume it for about four weeks everyday. Take a pinch of roasted alum and salt each, add it to buttermilk and consume it thrice a day to treat liver problems.

The appearance of yellow in the whites of the eyes generally means that you may have a case of jaundice. The best way to find out if this is true is to consult your doctor. The doctor will administer a blood test in order to confirm this possibility, and will then suggest an appropriate course of treatment. Jaundice is itself only a symptom, of which the yellow eyes are only one part. Jaundice also causes the urine to become dark in color, and causes the stools to become light in color. The yellow tinge can sometimes extend to the skin and the mucus membranes as well.
The underlying causes of jaundice are varied, and the treatment also varies accordingly. The causes may be due to some infection that has affected liver function or hemoglobin breakdown. If this is the case, the infection will need to be treated, while taking precautions so as not to strain your liver or your system in general. Some genetic diseases such as sickle cell anemia can also lead to jaundice, and the treatment is of course very different in such a case. Jaundice could also be an indication that a person has liver problems such as hepatitis or alcoholic liver disease. As you can see, many of these conditions are very serious, so prompt medical treatment is extremely important.
When suffering from jaundice it is extremely important to avoid stressing the liver any further. You should therefore completely avoid consuming alcohol; this practice needs to be continued for several months, till your liver function is completely back to normal. You should limit your intake of fats, as fatty, greasy food requires bile, and thus consumption of these foods puts a strain on your liver. Instead, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. You should avoid processed foods too, as they contain various additives and preservatives, many of which are best done without. It is also advisable to avoid excessive spices; bland food is better, at least for a few weeks. Lemon juice and sugar cane juice are supposed to be very good for the body when recovering from jaundice and you should try to consume these juices daily. Bitter gourd is one vegetable that is also supposed to be very good for the liver, and you can either eat the vegetable or drink its juice. However, be warned that the vegetable and the juice are both extremely bitter.
