Your son is experiencing indigestion or an upset stomach or dyspepsia. Since he is vomiting he seems to have hyperacidity or heartburn. There are several reasons for indigestion. But one of the main reasons why this could happen is because your son may be eating too quickly or leaving long gaps between his meals.
Some tips he can follow:
- Chew food properly and drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses) for proper digestion and absorption.
- Do not leave long gaps between meals and do not skip meals. Make sure he eats healthy meals at proper timings.
- Avoid spicy foods, pickles, vinegar, chocolates, raw salads, aerated drinks and strong tea and coffee.
- Avoid fibrous foods which means eat fruits like oranges, apples after peeling them. It is preferable to drink fresh juices which are easier to digest.
- A glass of whole milk gives instant relief during a bout of pain.
Here are some natural herbal home cures your son can benefit from:
- Take 1 tsp each of mint juice, lemon juice, and honey mixed together. This is highly effective.
- Peppermint or mint tea is very soothing. This is available as pudin hara or amritdhara in India. Drink few drops diluted with water at least 3 times a day or more. You can also try this herbal tea with mint, raspberry, camomile and blackberry.
- Mix 2 pinches of rock salt with 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain). Chew it for sometime and wash it down with water
