Dark Circles, tanned skin and unevenly textured skin are the most common skin conditions people across the world encounter. A drastic change in lifestyle habits like excessive stress, lesser sleep, overnight parties, over consumption of alcohol and recreational drugs, indiscriminate consumption of coffee in order to beat work related stress and the consumption of unhealthy food, have all lead to the increased number of people who encounter the above mentioned skin conditions. The most effective way of dealing with your problem of dark circles and your desire to have glowing skin, would be to make some lifestyle changes, along with following these few simple home remedies.
- Dark circles are indicative of an over worked body and mind. It is therefore imperative that you give your body at least 8 hours of rest everyday. Going to sleep early at night, instead of staying up late watching TV or browsing the net will help you achieve this. This will also provide your eyes the much needed rest it requires, as the rays emitted by a TV or computer screen often strain the eyes.
- In order to soothe your eyes, you can apply the juice extracted from an aloe vera plant. Placing slices of cucumber or grated cucumber on your eyes can also help in soothing your eyes and provide you with a good amount of relief.
- Splashing your eyes every now and then with cool water will also help you bring relief to your eyes. This will also ensure that your eyes remain clean of dust particles and other impurities.
- In order to retain your natural skin colored around the darkened area, apply the juice of a raw potato around your eyes twice a day. Allow the juice to settle on the skin around the eyes for a few minutes before washing it off with some room temperature water. This treatment would need to be followed regularly in order to get rid of your condition over a period of a month.
You can protect yourself from the harmful rays of the sun by following these few simple suggestions:
- Avoid going out from 10 a.m. in the morning to 3 p.m. in the afternoon. This is because; the sun is most harmful during this time. During this period the sun can cause some of the following conditions: sun burns, sun strokes, severe headaches and nausea.
- You can also protect your self from the harmful rays of the sun by wearing long sleeved shirts and full length pants. Wearing a cap or hat would provide you with additional protection.
- If you like wearing T shirts and shorts, or strapless dresses, you can apply a sun screen lotion that has a sun protection value of 40 or more. Sun Screen lotions are a very effective way of protecting the skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
- While swimming make sure you apply a water proof sun screen lotion, as normal sun screen lotions do not protect the body in water.
If you want glowing and radiant skin, following all the above suggestions would help you to a great extent. In addition you would need to supplement your diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, as the body gets its nutrients from these. Avoiding harmful habits like smoking, drinking alcohol and eating junk foods will also help you attain the same.
