Although the hair is not important from a health perspective, it is important enough to cause anxiety and discomfort when it starts thinning, disappearing or falling. Hair grows out from tiny pockets called follicles. At the base of each follicle is an up-growth known as papilla, this papilla is what is actually responsible for growing hair. The papilla generates or produces hair when a certain bunch of cells convert amino acids to keratin. Keratin is a protein that primarily constitutes the structure of the hair. Now the rate at which this keratin is produced will determine one’s hair growth. hair loss can be caused due to many reasons such as inadequate nutrition, stress, anxiety, skin conditions, chemicals, side effect of medication, hormonal problems etc. On an average the human scalp loses about 100-150 strands of hair daily. This is considered to be normal, however anything more than this is definitely a cause for concern.
Hair loss can be reduced to a considerable extent with the help of home remedies. Beat one egg thoroughly and to this add 8-10 drops of lemon juice. Mix the two together and then apply the massage the mixture into your scalp. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes after which rinse it off with lukewarm water. This will help in nourishing the roots and will strengthen the hair as well. Pour a tablespoon of rosemary oil into a bowl and warm it over a low flame. Once the oil is warm, massage it gently into the scalp. Now wrap your hair with a warm towel and let it stay for 30 minutes, after which rinse the hair with warm water and your regular shampoo. This remedy should be implemented a week.
yogurt is also very good for the hair. Mix together one cup of yogurt, a teaspoon of lime juice and a tablespoon of mustard oil. Apply this mixture on the hair covering every strand from root to the tip. Leave it on for 20 minutes after which rinse it off thoroughly using warm water. Black pepper and lime seeds can also help in preventing hair loss. Grind equal quantities of lime seeds and black pepper, to make a thin powder. Add a few drops of water to the powder to make it into a thick paste. This paste should be gently massaged into the scalp for 5 minutes then washed off with lukewarm water. This treatment will help in stimulating blood circulation and will also promote hair growth.
