Dry SKin Wrinkles Home Remedies & Prevention Tips
Wrinkles on skin usually start appearing as we grow older – it is a natural and inevitable process. However, there are cases when premature wrinkles show up on young skin due to reasons other than ageing. Dry skin is a prominent factor for the appearance of wrinkles on the skin. And there are multiple reasons for having dry skin – excessive smoking, prolonged exposure to the sun, pollution level, or maybe just a naturally dry skin. The problem with dry skin is that the fats and oils under the skin get lost easily. This makes the skin lose its natural elasticity, resulting in creases and wrinkles.
While the wrinkles that appear due to old age are difficult to erase, the premature wrinkles due to dry skin can be handled quite effectively by following a few preventive steps and some home remedies. Let’s have a look at some of the steps that can help you fight premature wrinkles:
- Moisturize Your Skin: It is extremely important to apply moisturizer regularly if you suffer from dry skin. You can use oils, lotions, creams to keep your skin moisturized. Coconut oil, olive oil, and other vitamin E-enriched oils can be used to moisturize your skin.
- Drink Plenty of Water: Consuming adequate amount of water becomes doubly important in case of dry skin. Water eliminates dryness, hydrates the skin, and makes it healthier.
- Follow a Proper Diet: Eat lots of vegetables and fruits to keep your skin supplied with essential nutrients. Avoid alcohol, caffeinated drinks, and, of course, smoking. Junk foods and processed food items are better avoided as well.
- Protect Your Skin: Ensure that you protect your skin from the sun’s rays and harmful chemicals. Wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen lotion (with an appropriate SPF) whenever you have to go out in the sun. Be careful when using cosmetics on the skin; whatever does not suit the skin should be avoided immediately.
You can also use the following Home Remedies:
- Use a paste prepared by mixing turmeric powder and sugarcane juice. Apply this paste to the wrinkled skin, allow it dry, and then wash it off gently.
- Apply egg yolk on the wrinkled skin to replenish lost nutrients and iron out wrinkles.
- Massage the skin with a mixture of olive oil, honey, and milk cream to restore lost fats.
- Rub slices of vegetables like cucumber and fruits like pineapple on the skin. Ripe fruit pulp of papaya can also be applied as a paste on the skin.
