Home Remedies for Dehydration
Home remedies for dehydration can be used to prevent the effects and risks that dehydration entails. First aid for dehydration should also be given to those who have lost consciousness due to the condition. If the condition is recognized in the earlier stages, it can be reversed. Home treatment is usually most beneficial in such cases. Here are some of the things you can do:
- Alter your diet if you experience diarrhea or vomiting. Drink lots of clear fluids and get checked for stomach infections or food poisoning, both of which could cause diarrhea as well as vomiting. If diarrhea continues, consume medications that can help you overcome the symptoms. Obtain medical advice to ensure that your diarrhea is controlled.
- Try fluid replacement by consuming small amounts of water and clear fluids at small intervals regularly. You should ideally consume at least 2 to 3 liters of fluids every day.
- In case of confusion, dizziness and loss of consciousness, offer immediate medical attention to the person.
