Prognosis of Epilepsy
The prognosis of epilepsy can differ widely from case to case. Some people may respond well to anti-seizure medication and epileptic attacks may reduce or completely stop in a few years. Children who suffer from some
types of epilepsy tend to outgrow the condition after puberty. For others, epilepsy can be a lifelong condition with continued medication. Complications of long-term epilepsy include learning difficulties, developing aspiration pneumonia, injuries, and permanent brain damage.
