Diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

 There are no laboratory tests for obsessive-compulsive disorder, however, most medical practitioners administer a self-test that can help look for symptoms of obsession. There is a mental status examination which consists of several interview questions. Doctors usually explore all other causes of the symptoms before attributing them to obsessive compulsive disorder. A lot of the symptoms could stem from addiction as well. A medical examination is also often given to ensure that there are no physical conditions that could cause these symptoms.
