Pneumothorax - Symptoms
Symptoms of Pneumothorax
The signs and symptoms of pneumothorax include:
- A sharp and sudden chest pain on the side of the lung that is affected
- Chest pain associated with pneumothorax does not occur in the center of the chest but rather only on the side
- Chest pain caused due to pneumothorax does not worsen when breathing in and out
- Coughing may aggravate the chest pain
- Fatigue or exhaustion
- Rapid heart rate
- Dyspnea
- Lack of oxygen may cause bluish tinge to the skin
- Low blood pressure
- Nasal flaring
- Anxiety
- Dry hacking cough
- Shock
- Engorgement of neck veins
- Difficulty breathing and shortness of breath.
