Treatment for ovarian cysts
Women have two ovaries. Each of these releases an egg which is covered in a sac called a follicle. The release of the egg starts the process of preparing the uterus for pregnancy. If the egg is not fertilized then a woman has her monthly period. During this period everything in the uterus, including the walls of the uterus, thickened in preparation for pregnancy, are emptied. Sometimes however, the follicle does not burst, and does not release the egg. It is in such cases that the fluid forms a cyst.
