Blemish skin care

How do you get rid of the redness around a blemish?

Acne, often a common problem during adolescence can also affect young adults due to a variety of reasons, like inflammation of skin, dandruff, hormonal imbalance and even bad dietary practices. Acne generally breaks out on the cheeks, forehead and nose and can leave behind reddish blemish marks. While over the counter creams help to get rid of acne and blemish, the best thing to deal with troublesome acne is to have a healthy lifestyle, with a balanced diet, avoiding rich oily foods and sugar. It is also important to drink approximately 8 glasses of water daily so that the impurities and toxins in your system are flushed out.

Honey kills the bacteria lying beneath your skin and leaves it blemish free - you can either have a spoonful of honey mixed with rose water daily, or apply a paste of cinnamon powder and honey to the blemish affected area before you sleep and wash it off the next morning. A face-pack made with crushed Margosa leaves, turmeric and rose water also helps to clear the skin. Raw papaya juice applied to the blemish also works wonders and helps clear the skin quickly. Orange-peel face-pack, fuller's earth (multani mitti) face-pack and sandalwood paste help to educe the redness as well as get rid of the blemish completely. You could also try using freshly boiled milk mixed with a few drops of lemon juice, green tea or chamomile tea as a face wash to help reduce blemish.
