Lung Pleurisy Symptoms
Please confirm your illness through a specialist. Inference of complications, based on symptoms, at the home levels is not recommended. The lungs are separated from the chest by the pleural membrane. A fluid called the plural fluid is present inside the membrane. Pleurisy is the inflammation of the membrane of the lungs. This results in rubbing or erosion of the membranes, resulting in chest pain.
The most common causative factors are pneumonia, viral infection and autoimmune disorders, such as pulmonary embolism, rheumatoid arthritis, pancreatitis and tuberculosis. The detection of the cause helps in hastening the treatment process. The cause remains unknown in some individuals, which result in slow healing. Also referred to as pleuritic chest pain, irritation persists in the lung membrane.
Weight loss, chills, cough, fever, trouble in exhalation and a sharp pain while breathing are the typical symptoms of pleurisy. It results because of lung abscesses, tuberculosis, influenza and pneumonia. Infection or tumor also triggers pleurisy. Painkillers are suggested to decrease pain, while coughing. Anti inflammatory drugs or cortisone are recommended to provide relief from pain and inflammation. Rest is also equally essential.
