Fibromyalgia
What is Fibromyalgia?Fibromyalgia, also known as FMS or fibromyalgia syndrome is a chronic disease that affects the muscles, joints, and tendons in the body. While the
pain caused by fibromyalgia can be severe, it does not cause any damage to internal organs or cause deformity. This is what separates fibromyalgia from other similar conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and polymyositis.
Nearly 80% of fibromyalgia cases are women between the ages of 35 and 55. However, men and children can suffer from the condition as well. Fibromyalgia can occur in combination with another disease such as rheumatoid arthritis or can develop on its own.
